Well with my character and weapon virtually done just got the vehicle to do so here is my first initial ideas more to follow. It is a land vehicle to be used on other planets such as Mars to get around from place to place the kind of shape that im after is like a scorpion type thing.
There looking good mate, lots of cool designs there :) I'd say though, make the vehicle smaller - dont get me wrong I dont know the back story for your character, I mean maybe the vehicle being that big is integral to the story. But if it isnt, Id make it smaller, like a one seater vehicle.
The reason for this is due to the complexity of creating a tank of armoured vehicle of that size, you will have to take into considertation tons more minor details, such as how the character gets into or onto the the vehicle, it takes longer to design and its harder to research!!!
have a look at the tanks from the Anime Dominion Tank Police for reference...
The drawings are looking slick and professional. Seek a tutorial at some point with Dean or Stas for guidance after you complete Pre-production. You can always revise them over summer.
This blog has been set up as a communication channel for students on BA(Hons) Entertainment Media Design at St Helens College. It is a place for the students to post samples of their work, research they wish to share and as a way to communicate ideas with each other.
Posting Guide
This blog is publicly open to read by a wide audience who can leave comments, but only students and staff can post. Postees are individually responsible for ensuring that their posts do not infringe anybody else's copyright. Any display of other people's IPR should be clearly referenced back to the source and IPR holder where it is clear.
Whatis?
BA(Hons) Entertainment Media Design is a 3rd year top up bachelors degree. It's focus is upon creativity and design for the entertainment industry. The degree focuses predominantly upon the games, animation and interactive design industries. Students develop their skills creatively, professionally and academically towards an individual design specialism.
It's first cohort of students have individually chosen projects around 3D character development and level/environmental design.
Primarily it is an articulated progression from a St Helens College creative Foundation Degree, but it is open to outside applicants with a suitable FD or HND.
Check out the website www.ba-emd.info (still in beta test)for more information. Contact the course leader Dave Wood if you are interested in the degree.
